iTunes

I will say it again… I just LOVE modern technology! My husband bought me an iPod for my birthday, so it was only natural that I would request an iTunes gift card for Christmas. Rick and Josh are so good to me;  between them I received $55 worth. Fun! The more I play around with the iPod and shop around in iTunes, the more pleased I am. So many possibilities… Christian podcasts, Focus on the Family radio theatre dramas…

Several years back I started purchasing the Luke Reports when they were first being produced. It became my Christmas tradition every year to listen to all eight hours – very inspiring. I was disappointed this Christmas because the first two chapters I purchased were on cassette, and I no longer have a working cassette player. The answer? Ahhh… iTunes. I found them both, synced them to my iPod and spent all day yesterday listening. The tradition continues.

I also found the Adventures in Odyssey radio dramas. I started purchasing them when Josh was 4. Over the years our collection grew until we finally had the complete set. That’s 50 cases! Even as Josh got older, he would listen to the stories over and over, many times at night when he was trying to get to sleep. They are wonderful stories, full of action and wonderful Christian principles, and they had a tremendous impact on him. On all of us, really – even Rick and I listen to them. When I started babysitting my friend Wanda’s boys, they eventually came to enjoy the stories, as well. I started loaning them out to her boys, five cases at a time. They’ve probably worked their way through the entire set several times. More recently, my granddaughter has started listening to them. She’s a little young for some of the scarier stories, but she really enjoys the others.

Again, since I started collecting them 15 years ago, the majority are in the form of audiocassette. There are a number of them that have finally worn out. The answer? Well, you get it.

How about that thermometer? I got to sleep in terribly late this morning (8:00 a.m.) and even at that late hour, this was the temperature outside. Brrr…!! I am ready for a cruise, some tropical weather, a warm beach. The forecaster indicated we would be frigid cold all week, but we do have temps in the mid-20s to look forward to next Sunday. It will feel balmy after the arctic weather we’re enduring now.
